Safety Specialist

Contract position: A Safety Analyst is needed for an American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment in the East Moline, IL area. This position will work with others on injury prevention by identifying and correcting potential safety and health hazards as well as identifying unsafe actions in order to eliminate on the job injuries and illnesses. No per diem available. No travel required.

Responsibilities for the Safety Specialist
  • Assist in developing recommendations for safety processes/programs to attain and sustain a hazard free workplace. This includes design and evaluation of components to monitor effectiveness.
  • Conduct audits to verify compliance to required regulations and company policies and then assures management is aware of items identified for proper and corrective actions.
  • Develop, direct, and may conduct safety presentations and training. Analyze appropriate Environmental Health Safety (EHS) functional reporting metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements for the Safety Specialist

  • Relevant manufacturing and safety experience.
