Application Engineer

Private Manufacturer/Distributor of Gas Compressors is seeking an Applications Engineer for their Houston office. Qualified candidates must have product knowledge of compressor support systems.

Responsibilities for the Application Engineer

  • Apply product knowledge and application to interpret and convey customer requirements
  • Ensure compressor support systems are developed in accordance to WPI's principles, along with the latest Industry standards
  • Package moderate to highly specified skid mounted compressors for natural gas application
  • Create CAD drawings and BOM's
  • Run OEM compressor sizing programs and maintain WPI's competitive pricing in the current database
  • Provide technical support for customer visits and serve as lead engineering representative for preparing quotes and/or drawings and models
Requirements for the Application Engineer

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical is PREFERRED or relevant experience
  • Highly preferred experience in ASME, API and ANSI processes and highly preferred experience in CAD data and BOM management
  • Preferred Compressor Design training at Ariel or equivalent manufacturer
  • MUST have AutoCAD design experience of gas compressors
