Contract position: A Gas Engineer is needed for a utility holding company in the Denver, CO area. This role is responsible for applying records researched against transmission pipelines to identify remediation projects for future capital budget projections. Requirements for the Gas Transmission Engineer
- Gas engineer applies records across applicable pipeline segments as part of maximum allowable operating pressure validation, identifying gaps in traceable, verifiable and complete records that are not in compliance with PHMSA 49 CFR 192 regulations.
- Project engineering includes evaluating data from existing pipeline records, applying results at a pipe segment level thru a decision process and building job packets to support remediation including pressure testing, pipeline replacement, pipeline excavation and/or revised operating setpoints.
- Experience with GE Smallworld or similar GIS system is desired. A B.S. degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Candidate should have a minimum of 3 years working in the gas industry ideally with pipeline experience.
