Inspector

Contract position: EPC client is looking for Site Construction QA/QC Inpector for night shift for a 2-4 month pipeline project in Jackson, LA. You need 10+ years of relevant construction site QC experience on refinery, petrochemical and pipeline construction projects as an Inspector. You will need your API 1169 and a CWI (can be inactive). You need to be able to start work on ASAP. Mob, demob, per diem & a trip home every three weeks will be provided.

Responsibilities for the Inspector
  • Perform QC inspections on the construction of tanks & terminals for a pipeline construction project in Jackson, LA
  • Inspect and verify that construction is performed in contractural accordance with the specifications and drawing requirements
  • Inspect and document that material and equipment delivered to the jobsite are properly received, stored, and maintained according to project specifications
  • Perform a detailed inspection and document findings at the beginning of each work phase within the subcontract (concrete application, structural steel erection, coatings application, etc.)
  • Review quality assurance documents as they are issued and ensure compliance
  • Review the final "Punch-out Inspection" list for each system and document status for completion
  • Verify subcontractor procedures and quality records are in contractual compliance
  • Perform document control audits on field drawings, test records, etc. for adherence to document processes
  • Responsible for walking down and obtaining signatures for the acceptance of systems with the subcontractor and/or client
  • Participate in the Task Safety Observations (TSO's) and ensure corrective measures have been implemented for problem areas
Requirements for the Inspector

  • 10-20 years of experience as a Site QA/QC Inspector on large heavy industrial construction projects
  • At least 3 years of construction QC experience on tank projects
  • You need specific experiecne with tank and terminal construction projects related to pipelines
  • You need a current CPWI (Certified Pipeline Welding Inspector) or CWI certification
  • A current API-1169 pipeline inspector certification is required
  • You need to have API 650 experience
  • You need to be familiar with the Operator Qualification (OQ) program per the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) guidelines
  • You need a current TWIC card
  • You need to be proficient in writing reports and technical writing
