Contract position: A Buyer/Planner is needed for an American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment in the Rock Island, IL area. This position will work with Strategic Sourcing to address chronic supplier performance issues and/or validation of suppliers during early supplier selection process as part of Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP). No per diem available. No travel required.Responsibilities for the Planner
Requirements for the Planner
- Makes use of Achieving Excellence process to manage the supplier's performance. Execute Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) with cost reduction activities, analyzing quotations, and making supplier selection.
- Participate in implementation of resourcing activities and make versus buy decisions. Collect cost data and prepares limited supplier cost/industry analyses.
- Support the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process so design changes and product improvements are implemented in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Experience in specific areas of Supply Management such as supplier integration, strategic supply management, supplier development, module supply management, scheduling, forecasting, and logistics.
