A Development/Research Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mossville, IL area. This role will research, design, and develop mechanical devices as well as build and execute plant models and controls. No per diem available. Requirements for the Research Engineer
- Multi-discipline transient plant modeling of electrical and hydro-mechanical transmissions, gears, shafts, clutches, hydraulic oil systems and diesel engines.
- BS in Mechanical, Agricultural Engineering, Aerospace, or Mechatronics is required. A Master's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering is desired.
- At least 2 years experience with commercial plant modeling tools such as AMEsim or GT-Suite. Minimum of 2 years of Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow experience.
- Knowledge of powertrain systems (engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, etc.). Experience with co-simulation of plant and controls in different simulation software.
