Permanent position: Exciting opportunity for a Network Technician in the LED lighting industry in the Austin, Texas area. This is a hands-on position responsible for leading the installation, services, & on-boarding team for a smooth transition from manufacturing to successful implementation. The Network Technician will be a key player in onsite customer/client interaction. Ideal candidates will have previous experience & a solid understanding of installation & service in areas such as: network cabling (Fiber & Copper CAT 5e/6/6a), Network Devices - Routers, Switches, Wireless Access Points, LAN/WAN, servers, printers, phones & other devices related to enterprise & data center infrastructure. Travel up to 50% between M-F; weekends enjoyed at home. Local candidates strongly preferred.
Responsibilities for the Network Technician- Project control fundamentals: monitoring, anticipating potential problems, identifying project conflicts, taking corrective action, resolving issues, managing scope, schedule, cost, profit & budget, project reporting, quality review & assurance
- Assemble & analyze information, drawings & specifications regarding client sites, including new construction & retrofits
- Solicit, engage, qualify & manage subcontractors & installation teams throughout North America as needed
- Work with the sales team & operations team to establish best practices for continuous improvement in processes, product design & cost containment
- Develop, enhance & maintain relationships with clients, installation teams & other subcontractors
- Work on multiple company bids & installations simultaneously & deliver in accordance with deadline objectives
Requirements for the Network Technician- Must have a clean driving record
- Experience with Electrical, BAS, IOT, & Smart Infrastructure projects
- Ability to read, adjust, comment upon & estimate costs using architectural plans/CAD
- Must have understanding of installation & service in areas such as: network cabling (Fiber and Copper CAT 5e/6/6a), Network Devices - Routers, Switches, Wireless Access Points, LAN/WAN, servers, printers, phones & other devices related to enterprise & data center infrastructure
