Contract position: IMMEDIATE NEED!!!!.......Client is looking for a Project Manager to manage electric utility substation & related facility EPC projects. You will be based out of their office near Philadelphia, PA. Client is looking for a minimum of 10+ years of related overall engineering & construction experience and 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager. Client prefers candidates that are within a 75 mile radius of Philadelphia.

Responsibilities for the Project Manager
  • This role will not be responsible for the direct management of the procurement or construction activities, but will be responsible for the bid, evaluation, award & administration of change orders for third party subcontractors for engineering and construction ares on substation projects and related facilities
  • Serve as project point of contact with Owner regarding efforts such as client coordination, strategic planning, scope management, and budgeting
  • Responsible for coordinating project planning, establishment of critical project objectives, quality control, budgeting and scheduling with the client
  • Maintain clear lines of communication and relationships between project site, project office and clients
  • Lead weekly progress review meetings as well as coordinate third party and utility resources in support of outages to implement the program
  • You will work with multiple client departments and its existing policies and procedures to obtain project approvals and ensure compliance with both utility and governmental regulations
  • You will also be responsible for weekly and monthly reporting to the utility on progress and performance, budget and schedule management
  • In addition to implementation of specific assigned substations, the role will require providing day to day supervision, coaching & mentoring to other team members, and assisting in resolving roadblocks as they arise
Requirements for the Project Manager

  • 10-15+ years of engineering & construction experience with some direct experience working on electric Utility projects (substation, transmission line or power plants)
  • You need experience as a Project Manager who is involved in the entire life cycle of an EPC project from permitting, subcontract negotiations, scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, etc...
  • Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contracts on project-related matters
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • You will do a lot of coordination with the utility so you really need some experience working on projects related to utilities
