Safety Manager

Permanent position: A Leading Reliability Solutions provider is seeking a Safety Manager for their various domestic clients' sites multiple projects in the U.S.. This person will develop, drive, and implement internal and onsite safety programs for a rapidly growing company of 800+ employees.

Responsibilities for the Safety Manager
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for Company's employees, contractors, subcontractors and clients; eliminate and mitigate risk; and ensure legal and regulatory compliance to client and Company's requirements
  • Develop and drive training programs for all facilities and create safety awareness for all employees ;Accurate and timely reporting of all OSHA and 3rd Party reporting; Perform investigations and drive CA/PAs for any safety incident
  • Maintain engagement scorecard and all metrics; Perform site safety walk downs and audits as requested by project teams; Maintain monthly safety training (topic, quiz, and data collection)
  • Create and enforce Company's minimum safety standards both internally and at client sites; Ensure client site compliance; conduct regular audits to validate onsite safety procedures and processes for consistency and efficacy
  • Review safety-related segments of client contracts for alignment with Company's policies and enforce stipulated requirements; Designate, train, and manage onsite safety leads to ensure ongoing safety presence at all client sites; Liaise between Company's and client safety contacts
  • Create and establish critical metrics and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to monitor and measure safety performance and improvement; Manage Safety Coordinator and their respective duties; Maintain and update proper documentation (i.e. environmental permits and reporting, safety training records; governmental/governmental licensing, filings, and reports; etc.); ensure all reporting requirements are accurate and up-to-date
  • Conduct incident investigations in alignment with ISO 9001 procedures; Maintain and update annual OSHA 300 log; Manage company DOT and non-DOT drug testing program
Requirements for the Safety Manager

  • Must have 5+ years of progressive safety-administration experience working in a refinery/petrochemical environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health (preferred, but not required)
  • Safety/Regulatory compliance experience in a refinery/petrochemical site environment; Previous emergency response experience; ability to respond promptly and appropriately in emergency situations
  • Safety certification(s) preferred for a refinery/petrochemical plant environment
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills; Proficiency in MS Office
  • Must have a Process Safety Chemical perspective expereince; Be able to build a strong safety culture; Be able keep Safety programs up to speed and develop Safety engagement
