Commissioning Engineer

Permanent position: Building Energy Solutions division is seeking a highly motivated Senior Commissioning Engineer to continue our success and growth in education and healthcare markets. This position has the opportunity to work remotely from our market areas in either the Mid-Atlantic or Florida. Our client develops, designs and manages energy retrofit projects for commercial and institutional clients. Objective oversight from project development through construction and commissioning. 4 distinct departments: Energy Analytics,MEP Engineering, Construction Management and Commissioning. BSME and PE desired. Engineering degree required.

Responsibilities for the Commissioning Engineer
  • Plan, schedule and perform all responsibilities of the commissioning process, includingcommissioning team meetings, for mid to large projects
  • Write commissioning plans and field reports for commissioning projects
  • Develop commissioning methodologies, plans and tools in support of an evolving commissioningpractice
  • Provide support to retro-commissioning, energy master plan and design projects
  • Monitor HVAC systems with building automation systems and data loggers to troubleshootoperational problems
  • Interact with owners, architects, engineers and contractors
Requirements for the Commissioning Engineer

  • BS Mechanical Engineering preferred. Will consider other engineering degrees
  • 5+ year commissioning related experience on healthcare, academic or commercial projects
  • PE desired but not required
  • Professional certificate related to building commissioning required, ASHRAE BCxP preferred
  • Experience developing commissioning specifications and testing scripts
  • Working knowledge of commissioning processes and procedures
  • Keen understanding of HVAC and building automation system interactions
  • Strong desire to be part of a team that is making a difference

  • This position is not required to work from the State College, PA office, but must live within anapproximately 3-hour drive from key client locations in the Mid-Atlantic Region (Pittsburgh, DelawareValley, southern New Jersey, Baltimore), or Florida (Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville, Gainesville)
