Network Engineer

job summary:
Client is looking for 2 Network Development Engineers for a long term contract position. You will operate as part of a dedicated team of IT professionals that deploys and maintains network, management applications, and infrastructure. You will provide operations, administration, management, and provisioning of network management applications on private cloud infrastructure networks. This is a W2 position - not C2C. This is a Remote work position.

responsibilities:
  • Plans and collaborates with team members to research, design, implement, document, monitor, maintain, and support private cloud infrastructure running container services and orchestration to support network management and automation applications
  • Provides network infrastructure problem resolution and troubleshooting in a customer - oriented environment
  • Utilizes Network Development & Operations experience to meet customer expectations around orchestration, automation, provisioning, monitoring, and configuration management of traditional physical devices as well as virtual network functions
  • Develops and operates containers, systems and applications that provide core network services as well as virtual network functions
  • Develops, integrates and operates a configuration management database, IP address management system, identity management
  • Utilizes modern development tools & methodologies like revision control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines and micro-services to build a modern REST api driven infrastructure
  • Coordinates the resolution of unplanned changes, upgrades, or outages of network infrastructure applications and services
  • Resolves medium- to-high complexity technical issues with private cloud infrastructure and applications during and outside of core business hours. Interacts and cooperates with other internal and external support groups to facilitate resolution of technical issues to maximize system availability and meet Service Level Agreements
  • Articulates customer requirements into tasks and stories using Agile tools. Communicates with peers such that user tasks and stories are clearly understood by all stakeholders
 
qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Network Integration for cloud environment
  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or other related field
  • Understanding of network technologies & protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, etc...)
  • You need experience with Kubernetes and Docker containers
  • You need server experience with Ansible or Salt, and experience deploying a lot of servers and software in a cloud environment
  • You need installation and administration and packaging experience with Linux
  • You should have experience in network automation software development on Linux
  • You need some experience with Git
  • You need experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • You need an understanding of MPLS & segment routing
  • A background in Network integration with dev ops skills is strongly preferred
 
skills:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Network Design Engineer
