responsibilities:
  • Guide leadership grooming (technical / management tracks) within the manufacturing environment. Selects, cultivates, trains and supervises engineering leads/ supervisor and key staff
  • Oversees, manages and approves aircraft manufacturing engineering projects, processes and performance reports to optimize the manufacturing engineering department output
  • Overall accountable for Aircraft Configuration in the execution of following activities:
  • Work Order Review, and release and Maintain Provisional BOM
  • FAST Structure & Configuration and Point of Introduction assessment
  • Operational Make or Buy evaluation, choosing strategically between producing an item internally (in-house) or buying it externally (from an outside supplier)
  • Configuration Report release
  • Overall accountable for Technical Compliance and Supplier Support
  • Engineering Order Review and Implementation Status
  • Release and Maintain Technical Specification for Delivery
  • Prepare, coordinate and implement CR / DCN/ PP/ CM
  • Supplier/Supply Chain Management support with technical and/or design specifications
  • Release First Article Inspection Plans and support follow on activities
  • Technical Library management
  • Review program management proposals/changes and develop plans to meet requirements for delivery w.r.t manufacturing engineering constraints and design data availability
  • Plans and formulates aspects of manufacturing engineering proposals such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, costs of project, and equipment and human resource requirements
  • Manage development of manufacturing engineering procedures, departmental policies and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Evaluate Cost vs. Benefit analysis of manufacturing engineering project proposals and provide direction/ vision for short-term long-terms goals
  • Enable integration with the Manufacturing, Operations and Quality Manager; review and monitor quality and process improvements and new product line introductions
  • Enforce modification of production documentation, procedures, standard practices and manufacturing engineering training to maintain and enhance safety, compliance and profitable operation of the department
  • Co-ordinate internal and external customer inputs in order to prepare and optimize flows, sequences and layouts pertaining to the aircraft production cycle
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Aerospace, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial)
  • Masters or PhD highly desired
  • 9 to 12 years of Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Problem Solving/Decision Making
  • Planning and organizing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Training Certs are desired
