job summary:
Power Generation client is looking for an Electrical (or I&E) Maintenance Technician to join their plant located near Cadillac, MI. You need 5+ years of relevant I&E experience (with a heavy emphasis on electrical) in some sort of heavy industrial plant (oil & gas, pulp & paper, power, chemical process etc...) environment. Client offers excellent pay, benefits, & 8% performance bonus potential

responsibilities:
Responsibilities:

  • You main focus will be to install, troubleshoot, and repair high & low voltage electrical systems, transformers, protective relays, variable frequency drives, and other electrical and electronic control components
  • Diagnose and remediate cause(s) of electrical malfunction or failure on plant equipment
  • Run wire and conduit for newly installed equipment, and complete end terminations
  • Replace faulty wiring and electrical components such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices
  • Assist in the maintenance of DCS, TCS, PLCs and other control systems
  • Assist in the maintenance of CEM System to ensure maximum availability and performance
  • Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned by maintenance supervisor
 
qualifications:
Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as an I&E or Electrical Maintenance Technician in an operating heavy industrial plant (oil & gas, pulp & paper, power generation, chemical process etc...) environment
  • You need a strong understanding of electrical codes
  • Ideal candidate is a Journeyman Electrician
  • You need a solid understanding of electrical components, including generators, protective relays, switchgear, uninterrupted power supplies, variable frequency drives, high voltage motors, and motor control centers
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, electrical wiring diagrams and control schematics
  • You need to be familiar with computerized maintenance management systems
  • You need experiencing using various electrical testing equipment, including meggers, multi-meters, insulation resistance testers, etc
  • Working knowledge of cable pulling techniques, conduit installation practices, and high voltage cable termination methods
  • Any experience with instrumentation & controls is a PLUS
