job summary:
Senior level controls engineer needed for a client located just outside of Indianapolis. Looking for someone who has worked on custom automated machinery and can manage a project from begining to end. Someone who has great hands on experience with PLCs and Robotics. Salary for this role will be based on experience.

responsibilities:
- Machine PLC and HMI programming to Capital or customer specification
- Peripheral device programming, including robots, vision, motion control
- Machine debug and validation
- Assist with the concept and help develop hardware requirements and design
- Travel to customer site for installation and startup
- Typical travel average 25% primarily domestic with some international
- Mentor and guide Controls Engineers I, II, and III in all phases of a project from concept through installation and debug
- Able to own definition and delivery of the entire project controls scope when required
- Ensure finished electrical and controls deliverables adhere to customer requirements and to Capital's design standards
- Able to step into projects at any stage and come up to speed quickly
- Able to quickly identify and resolve issues that are causing the project to go off track
- Responsible for communication with Project Manager/Management, including status reporting, risk management, escalation of issues that cannot be resolved in a timely manner
- Monitor budget, scope, and schedule when acting as Controls Lead and/or Project Manager
- Act as customer liaison when working in Project Manager role for project
- Adhere to company's safety policies to create a safe work environment for employees
