job summary:
Contract position: Engineering & Construction client involved in power plant EPC projects is looking for a Pipe Stress Engineer with 3-8 years of relevant power plant piping experience. This is a contract opportunity in the Kansas City, MO area with a possibility of turning into a direct hire position. Client prefers candidates that are local to the area or willing to commute.

responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring adequate flexibility in critical piping systems, defining the Stress Analysis scope of supply, & developing piping specifications (customized & company standard)
- Prepare material requisitions for piping commodities and piping mechanical specialty items
- Be involved with verification of client specifications and requirements
- Coordinate efforts with engineering and piping designers
- Review and comment to hanger submittals
- Review pipe stress models and calculations performed by others
