Construction Project Manager

job summary:
Senior Project Manager opportunity based out of the Chicago, IL area for someone with a background in the construction industry. This position will be responsible for working through the full life cycle of commercial and academic facility construction projects from initially supporting internal teams in the development stage through installation and support upon project completion.

responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with Engineering & Account Managers to ensure estimates and pricing are accurate relative to the project scope
  • Work directly with the customer to schedule and coordinate all work performed and stay informed of progress
  • Work the full life cycle of a project from obtaining quotes from and choosing contractors through project completion
  • Keep track of labor, materials, project modifications, and work completion, and make necessary changes as needed
  • Responsible for all aspects of installation and stay ahead of quality and other problems by working closely with all parties
  • Responsible for providing direction to all members of the project team to ensure project objectives are being met
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years experience in the construction industry (will consider non-degreed candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience in project development, scheduling projects and managing project budgets
  • Demonstrated experience directing project teams
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work directly with owners
  • Willing to travel approximately 75% in the region to include overnight trips
