What will I do? ICU Nurses act as the "eyes and ears" for Physicians in the ICU by collecting primary and secondary assessment data in addition to providing direct patient care. This includes: triaging, diagnosing and prioritizing patients based on severity of need; stabilizing patients experiencing trauma; and ruling out medical emergencies, when appropriate, and discharging the patient safely. You will also be responsible for working with patients and families in crisis, and educating them regarding follow-up care.
- an associate degree or bachelor in nursing
- a current/active RN license in GA
- a BLS or ALS certification
- ICU nursing (2 years of experience is required)
