Collections Representative

  • The primary role of a Collections Representative is working in the accounts receivable operationsand is responsible for: resolving open balances with payers
Essential Duties/Responsibilities  

  • Perform one of the functions as defined below with direct supervision:
  • Review remittances from payors to determine appropriate follow-up based on internal processes
  • Interact with external/internal customers via phone or online applications as necessary to collections problems and expedite payments
  • Obtain status and follow up on outstanding claims from payors
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of re-bills to the appropriate insurance companies.
  • Submit appeals to payors to overturn denials
  • Work in claims clearing house to resolve claim rejections and incompletes
  • Confirm patient eligibility with payer via phone or online portals
  • Submit payer questions as needed
  • Escalate payor issue trends for leadership consideration
