We are seeking an experience FMLA Specialist with 3-5 years of experience in one or more areas of human resource management, including 3 years in the FMLA assigned area. This is a contract position lasting through August but does have the potential to extend within the organization. As the FMLA Admin you perform technical human resource management duties which require advanced skill, knowledge, and abilities for effective completion.
Provides the focal point for all questions and problems relative to Family Medical leave (FMLA) by way of verbal and written communication with supervisors, managers, and employees. As a single incumbent to this position, this focal point covers all departments within the university and the hospitals.
Serves as a “source” of information and interpretation for FMLA regulations and related client policies and practices. Receives Requests for FMLA from all departments. Receives medical documentation completed by the employee’s treating physician. Contacts employees and/or supervisors to clarify missing, incomplete or confusing information presented as part of the request form or medical documentation.
Reviews all assigned requests for FMLA and documentation to approve FMLA eligibility
