Summary

To order, insure delivery of and manage inventory levels of assigned finished goods, raw materials and packaging. The overall goal of this position is to keep inventory of assigned items at an optimal level while not impacting customer service levels.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Responsible for planning and ordering assigned items. Items may include gloves, other hardware type items, possible new line items, and packaging
Responsible for maintaining inventory levels for assigned items at optimal levels while still supporting customer requirements.
Makes recommendations for disposal or alternate use of obsolete and slow moving inventory.
Responsible for supporting warehouse in scheduling and planning rework of items.
Responsible for tracking all incoming shipments from international suppliers, maintaining a delivery log for those shipments, resolving delays and communicating delivery information to colleagues and management. Will also be responsible for receiving and distributing documents for those shipments.
Responsible for monitoring, reporting on, and resolving any potential inventory outages for assigned items.
Communicate with overseas company office, satellite warehouses, suppliers, and colleagues in a consistent and timely manner regarding the items assigned.
Responsible for the establishment of new items that fall into assigned commodities from a planning / purchasing standpoint.
Contribute to reaching company goals for inventory turns, fill rate, and on-time delivery by effectively managing assigned commodities.
Help establish and document departmental processes and procedures

Working hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Qualifications:
Preferred Education and Experience

Purchasing/Planning Experience
Prefer purchasing / planning experience, but not required
Good work ethic
Competent in Microsoft office applications
Prefer experience working with an ERP / MRP system
APICS CPIM or ISM C.P.M., A.P.P. or CPSM professional certifications are a plus
Outstanding attitude
Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
Willingness to work overtime when required.
Self-starter who requires minimal supervision
