A thriving medical practice needs an experienced Medical Receptionist who can take over the administrative duties involved with coordinating patient and physician schedules as well as bookkeeping, file management and office organization. We're looking for a professional who believes that patients should be treated as people rather than numbers in a file, and who understands the value of compassionate service. The job includes significant amounts of multi-tasking, but the ideal candidate will know when to slow down, look patients in the eye and provide personalized service.

This position reports to the Office Manager who is very laid back in his management approach. He cares about his employees and it is reflective in the open door policy he has. He challenges his employees on a daily basis for the purpose of expanding their skills through effectively asking questions.
--Responsible for greeting incoming patients in a friendly and professional manner.
--Complete and accurate information should be obtained from the patient for billing and demographics purposes.
--All incoming calls should be answered in a friendly and professional manner.
--Complete administrative duties that ensure the patient???s visit is smooth, billing can be processed timely and accurately, and front office remains clutter free and organized.
--Collect co-pays at the time of visit and in accordance with patient insurance guidelines.
--Create patient charts for a first time visitor or locate charts if it is a return visit.
--Deliver medical notes to patient primary care physician
--Use appropriate systems to:
Document and track patients
Confirm patient billing information
Verify Medicaid insurance eligibility
Process credit card payments.
Working hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
--Effective written and verbal communication and good telephone skills.
--Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients, and the general public
--Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
--Provide customer service in accordance to clinic mission
--Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements The ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks is required
--Must be professional, flexible, caring, and compassionate and exhibit a congenial and sensitive attitude toward patients
--Must have a high level of energy with the ability to adjust to any justifiable pace.
--High School Diploma or equivalent; Some college preferred ??? medical, business, accounting focus
--1-year minimum of medical office or healthcare facility experience
--Is knowledgeable and completely trained on all aspects of Workers Compensation and practice policies
