This will be a temporary to permanent position.
The customer service sales representative is responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excelling, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs as well as communicating effectively with team members within the customer service department.
Receive orders from customer via phone, email, or fax.
Place orders, enter order into the Unified System, and verify product cost, shipping cost and coordinate delivery date. If product increases, in price shop the product for alternative pricing.
Confirm pricing with customer on all orders.
Communicate and follow up with customers on all issues relating to their order.
Assist sales reps with the coordination of new and high priority orders.
Process customer product returns in a timely manner and in accordance with prescribed and documented procedures.
Audit, research and manage back order report.
Maintain an organized workstation so any team member or supervisor may locate paperwork.
Communicate and provide necessary support to sales staff to optimize sales and customer satisfaction.
Communicate any supply or vendor issues to sales team.
Update customer files with address changes, pricing quoted by salespeople, delivery instructions or other customer notes as needed.
Ensure accuracy of vendor invoices by verifying pricing with written documentation for each order.
Ensure MSDS information is received on new products.
Call preferred carriers to arrange for delivery when necessary.
Notify the Warehouse with a copy of the purchase order for delivery notification.
Communicate with Sales regarding supply or vendor issues.
Review all vendor paperwork for accuracy.
Match accounts payable invoices to proper supporting paperwork, such as bill(s) of lading, purchase orders, packing slips, etc.
Assist in month-end closing.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other members of the department.
Attend all required training when scheduled unless absent from work.
Working hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
Excellent problem solving skills and acute attention to detail
Ability to prioritize work to meet time-sensitive deadlines
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Ability to multi-task and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
Superior level of skill in Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of AS/400 or similar ERP system is preferred
An effective team player who is flexible, professional, and mature
Ideal Candidate Must Possess the Following:
3+ years of experience in a high volume customer service environment
Bachelors Degree is a plus
Experience in chemical distribution is a plus
Must pass criminal background screening and pre-employment drug screen
