A large utilities company located in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Project Manager for the Groundwater Assessment Program (GWAP). The position is responsible for the management of all phases of project planning and development to ensure all project success factors are met, including but not limited to safety, environmental, scope, cost and schedule. The monitoring wells are related to the Coal Ash Management Act (CAMA) and the Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Rule requirements. This position has single point accountability and will work under the general direction of a Senior PM.
This position typically is assigned multiple White or Green I ranked projects per the Project Management Center of Excellence Project Profile Matrix. These projects are typically each valued between $200K and $5M with a Low to Moderate level of complexity.
The Project Manager provides leadership, management, direction, coordination, and control of the overall project in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements of the Coal Combustion Products??? organization.
-This role is a matrixed role and will require extensive coordination with other internal and external organizations including: Environmental Health & Safety, field implementation, project controls, supply chain, etc.). The PM is expected to manage matrixed members of the team and achieve performance of the project.
-Establish and maintain strong communications among all project team members and stakeholders. Structure and lead project related meetings and reports. Examples include project development meetings, kickoff meetings, readiness reviews, turnover meetings, weekly reports, monthly reports, etc.
-Drive the project planning process to include safety, scope development, completion of an environmental permitting checklist, schedule development, cost estimates, project funding approvals, procurement/contracting strategies, readiness reviews, etc.
-For each project, develop a comprehensive Project Plan and other supporting documentation as required by Coal Combustion Products organizational procedures and PMCoE Standards.
-Once fully planned and developed, Project Manager conducts thorough turnover of the project to a Field Implementation Manager who is then responsible for coordinating and overseeing actual field work. Upon completion of the field work, Project Manager would then be responsible for all project closeout activities.
