Records Assistant

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, batches, researches, and updates documents for business units in a timely manager. May also scan indexes and update incoming Bankruptcy, Payment Processing, Finance, Claims, and Legal documentation


??? Maintains accurate daily reports of individual work productivity
?? Accesses in-house system to identify and research documents
?? Researches and categorizes mail before it is scanned into the imaging system
?? Scans and indexes documents through E-capture
?? Records receipt of documents and other pertinent information regarding borrowers by adding comments into the LMS software application
?? Maintains accurate daily reports of individual work productivity
?? Organizes and prepares documents for offsite storage facility
?? Assists in the training of new Electronic Imaging staff
?? Accesses U.S. Department of Education system to identify and research Department of Education documents
?? Researches debtor names through verification of Social Security Number and batches documents into correct document type
?? Accesses NSLDS to identify and research NSLDS documents
?? Initiates the retrieval and monitoring of records requested by other entities and handles any problem issues as they arise
?? Assists internal business partners with document requests
?? Complies with all ECMC Group Policies
?? Performs other duties as assigned

Working hours: 7 AM - 6 PM


- Basic knowledge and skills working in a computer based office suite environment; Microsoft Windows or Mac Office
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Displays and promotes high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational and government standards
- Ability to consistently carry out job responsibilities
- Ability to clearly and effectively convey information to individuals or groups. This includes the ability to choose the appropriate method or methods of communication
- Demonstrates the ability to analyze, identify and solve problems while using sound judgment. Able to implement solutions to address business issues. Knows who to involve and takes appropriate action
- Ability to anticipate, understand and manage customer expectations and consistent delivery of services. Clearly and effectively conveys information
