The General Manager is responsible for managing all administrative, personnel and operational matters. This includes supervising and in some cases producing events, managing union and non-union personnel and issues, operations, cost controls and inventory. Must have the ability to meet administrative deadlines despite a busy environment. Responsible for generating revenue, estimating, negotiating and executing contracts. Responsible for leading, directing and delegating work, motivating team member's performance, addressing performance issues and providing occupational guidance, training and support. Relationship management includes developing and fostering cohesive relationships with employees, facilities, partners, clients, customers and exhibitors.
Leadership, sales, marketing, organizational, financial and operational management skills and accountability. Maintain and foster ongoing relationships with vendors, business partners and show organizer. Develop, establish and drive new business, forecast revenue and expenditures and implement plans for revenue growth. Prepare estimates and negotiate contracts and terms with clients, vendors and unions. Establish, implement, monitor, and analyze financial data and reporting systems. P & L responsibility and accountability. Motivate, lead and evaluate staff which includes union and non-union employees, administrative and event production personnel. Communicate and partner with the corporate office regarding administrative and human resource policies and procedures.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Must possess a high level of business acumen, a strong work ethic, high energy, enthusiasm and passion for the trade show/special events industry. Electrical experience is preferred. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to forecast revenue, estimate, write and negotiate contracts and job cost.
Experience negotiating contracts with unions and managing union employees. Minimum 10 yeas personnel and event management experience. Excellent writing, organizational, interpersonal and sales skills with proven leadership ability.
