Working with, and taking direction from, the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Operations Manager will perform the following duties:
Produce financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet and $ flow statements), including making calculations for job costing and percentage completion accounting calculations.
Ensure the integrity of the SAP Business One ERP system and the accuracy and completeness of its data, including by overseeing all transaction entries.
Produce a cash flow forecast by working in partnership with the CEO, the Engineering Manager and the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Manage the accuracy and efficiency of the day-to-day activities regarding accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, job costing (including percentage completion calculations), fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting and HR activities.
Ensure regulatory and legal compliance, including with the HR functions of the company.
Manage outsourced functions, including tax, benefits and IT contractors and outsourcing partners, including bid processes, contract negotiations and, in particular with regard to compensation and benefits, bench marking and program design.
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and ensure the adherence to the controls and checks and balances.
Maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs and project budgets and expenditures.
Perform finance and accounting activities, including periodic bank reconciliation's, debt service payments and maintenance
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Reporting to the CEO, the Controller manages the accounting, finance, administrative, human resources and purchasing/receiving activities of the Company. Working collaboratively with the company's Director of Sales and Marketing and Engineering Manager, the controller is a key member of a small team of senior managers who lead the day-to-day activities of the business. The Controller has three direct reports: a Purchasing Associate, an HR and Administrative Associate and a Bookkeeper.
The Controller oversees all aspects of the financial and operational data capture, maintenance and manipulation, including producing timely and accurate financial statements and management reports. He/she maintains the company's cash flow forecasts and is responsible for cash management (including billing, accounts receivable and vendor payments).
The Controller is also responsible for maintaining and improving the company's SAP Business One ERP system and implementing changes that improve the overall efficiency of the company??s operations. He/she is responsible for maintaining documentation for, and driving continuous improvement of, the finance and administrative team's controls, processes and procedures, as well as ensuring that the company complies with relevant regulations.
