We are looking for a Remote Sensing Analyst (Contract) who will bring a strong ability to analyze satellite, aerial and other remote sensing imagery and derive specific, actionable insights from a variety of remote sensing products. We work with satellite and aircraft images to generate crop health and crop status insights for research and commercial applications.
-- Analyze image data acquired from aircraft, satellites, or ground-based platforms, using statistical analysis software, image analysis software, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications.
-- Process imagery and metadata to produce geo-referenced and calibrated layers
-- Validate data quality, radiometric calibration and statistical models application
-- Collaborate with other team members on research endeavors and writing code.
-- Write beautiful, robust, well-documented research code.
-- Communicate research results within the quantitative teams and to engineering and product teams.
-- Support researchers with accessing data and analysis results
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
--Modern computer programming language (Python or R preferred)
--Cloud computing environments such as AWS, S3, EC2
--GIS software and libraries such as QGIS, ArcGIS, ENVI, GeoServer and GDAL
--Working with remote sensing imagery from satellite and aerial for vegetation analysis
--Optional desirable experience:
--Familiarity with satellite and aerial imaging workflows, data cleanup and processing
--Implementing algorithms on big data in distributed environments such as GeoPySpark
--Working with elevation data, LIDAR, Hyperspectral, or thermal sensors
--Determination to identify and implement opportunities to establish and improve standard workflows
--B.S. in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Statistics, Environmental Science, EE, Physics or a closely related field.
--1+ years of relevant work experience
