Accountant I

Actively participate in the Corporate Reporting & Analysis team. Responsible for the activities related to the Company's monthly and quarterly results including (i) prepare and analyze detailed reports relating to the Balance Sheet and Product Category, including related commentary, (ii) assist Manager in the accounting for share-based compensation expense (Plan, actuals and estimate), (iii) prepare and analyze Consolidated, Affiliate and Brand Return Metrics, (iv) assist in preparation and analytical review of various schedules included in the Quarterly Review book, (v) comprehensive understanding of Hyperion (HFM and Essbase) including the system processes and the structures related to the various hierarchy and coding block and (vi) special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:
Assist Managers in the preparation, analysis and documentation of Balance Sheet and Product Category reporting. Will work independently to identify key variances, obtain explanations from Affiliates and Brands, as needed, and document results. Must exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
Assist Manager in the calculation and analysis of stock-based compensation expense (Plan, Actuals and Estimate). Obtain an understanding of the Company's various equity-based awards and related US GAAP. Will require strong organizational skills and proficiency with MS Excel.
Prepare, review, analyze and distribute various monthly and quarterly reports as assigned ensuring accuracy to the underlying information. Analytical approach is required to ascertain accuracy in reporting and to ensure material fluctuations are valid and explainable.
Prepare and analyze Consolidated (ROIC), Affiliate (ROMC) and Brand (ROA) return metrics on a quarterly basis. Must work with Corporate Tax department to obtain latest projected tax rates by Affiliate, calculate AR by Brand, ensure periods and adjustments (Restructuring and Other Non-recurring) are updated accurately and update Affiliate and Brand hierarchy changes as necessary. Will work collaboratively with the Consolidations with regard to memo account updates and system refreshes.

Document results of analytical review in a PowerPoint presentation, including summary explanations of key drivers of variances.

Working hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Comprehensive understanding of Hyperion (HFM and Essbase) including the system processes and the structures related to the various hierarchy and coding block is required. Able to work proficiently with SmartView to extract data accurately and timely to assist in ad hoc reporting needs.
