Business Development Sales Associate

A Business Development Sales Associate is needed for a large utilities company in Charlotte, NC. to work within a fast paced business development team that is focused on growing revenue. The team works with companies to optimize energy systems, achieve sustainability goals and improve financial outcomes. You will know that you've successfully contributed to our complex business development process when you've been able to qualify and coordinate an initial conversation between one of our business development managers and a stakeholder of energy systems and infrastructure with a company, state, or local governmental organization. Your development of an initial conversation includes:

-Capturing basic information about the prospect's current energy systems portfolio,
-Uncovering operations and financial risks associated with unplanned energy system disruptions,
-Gaining an organizational understanding of decision makers who are effected by energy risks
-Introducing the basics of our Value Proposition and gauging interest

Responsibilities:
- Active prospecting and corresponding with prospects via phone and email
- Proactive outbound activity (phone & e-mail) against developed marketing lists
- Utilize networking tools (Linked In) and other services to derive contacts
- Reactive calls as generated from advertising efforts
- Operate 3rd party service platforms (CMD and/or Dodge) for researching bid and RFP type data sets
- Initiate outbound Lead Generation activity against the outputs
- Partner with the Business Developers to establish relationships with prospective clients
- Attend and participate in sales strategy meetings
- Conduct research into prospective companies and markets and equips sales team for successful entrance into new accounts
- Work closely with the Marketing organization
- Provide feedback to and serves as a consultant for marketing strategies
- Suggest adjustments and revisions to sales and marketing strategies to improve marketing & Sales activities
- Work with sales and marketing for entrance into new markets
- Maintain all client related information, contacts, documentation, sales activities, and leads in CRM system (Salesforce)

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
The edeal candidate will have strong Microsoft Word skills, be a problem solver, analytical and have strong communication skills
Must be proficient in Salesforce

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or related field is required
3+ years sales or customer service experience at an energy company
Must have valid drivers license and reliable mode of transportation
