Account Service Specialist

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Under immediate supervision and in accordance with established policies procedures state regulations and production based quotas audits keys and processes "non-jet-issued" new business enrollment applications and/or new business policy conversions using multiple core administration databases and systems
- Reviews applications to ensure that all questions have been answered and that applications meet established standards and state specific Department of Insurance (DOI) regulations for issuing new business including associate writing number and other information plan codes and underwriting guidelines; keys pertinent data onto formatted screens within the computer system; verifies the accuracy and completeness of data entered; researches error codes and makes necessary corrections; issues or suspends applications as appropriate
- Calculates and balances premiums as necessary including processing associated forms and noting discrepancies for further research and resolution; refers or consults with Lead and/or Supervisor regarding non-routine issues; interacts with other business units and field associates as necessary via email telephone and in writing to resolve issues and inquiries and to maintain efficient data and information flow
Responsibilities:
- Provides back-up coverage for other teams as required maintains databases and prepares and extracts information using software systems; performs various clerical duties as assigned such as filing photocopying typing maintaining databases and preparing and extracting information using software systems
- Performs other related duties as required
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Typing: 55/wpm
- Data Entry: 73/kpm
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; this includes needs assessment meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology
- Skill in giving full attention to what other people are saying; taking time to understand the points being made; asking questions as appropriate
- Skill in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making
- Skill in using mathematics to solve problems
- Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures when learning new policies procedures concepts or products
- Skill in managing one's own time and the time of others and actively looking for ways to help people
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
?? High school graduate or equivalent and one year of work experience
?? Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite software
