Randstad in partnership with a leading biotechnology company located in St. Louis, MO, is now hiring for a Biochemist with experience work with microbial cultures. If you are the selected candidate for this role, you will work with our client in the development of technology that enables farmers to grow more crops by applying biotechnology, genomics and molecular breeding technology to herbicides and seeds.
As the successful candidate for this opportunity, you will assist with regular biochemical/microbial lab prep and operations include media prep, biochemical sample analysis, fermentation prep and runs. The position involves microbial culture and fermentation, purification and analysis of different biomolecules as well as method troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, calibrations, sterilization and process improvement.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Bachelors in microbiology, biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biochemical engineering and at least 2 years of lab experience.
- The individual should possess strong verbal and written skills, be team-oriented and self-motivated. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Familiarity and/or experience with protein, DNA/RNA purification, enzyme activity assay and chromatography are a plus.
- Must be willing to work occasional early mornings and late evenings, M-F.
