Human Resources Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity tor YOU to become the next HR Business partner for an international company dedicated to innovative and sustainable development of the highest quality vegetable seeds. They are a leader in the vegetable seed business and #2 worldwide. They are a culturally diverse and collaborative team, working in over 30 countries, and serving growers on every continent.

They are located in Davis, CA. This is a Direct Hire position that pays between $70,000 - $88,000/year.

Responsibilities:
Some of the specific responsibilities of the position are:

- Aligns business objectives with employees and management for the designated business function.
- Serves as a consultant to management on HR related issues.
- Acts as an employee advocate and change agent.
- Proactively assesses the unit??s HR-related needs, and sets the wheels in motion for an efficient and timely resolution. Maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit??s financial position, its
mid/long-term goals and objectives, its culture, and its performance.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
- Serves as the first stop, dedicated point of contact for all HR related questions/concerns of the function??s employees.
- Provides training, coaching, and mentoring to local HR Support when applicable.
- Visits out-of-state client locations quarterly.

Center of Excellence
- Responsible for the complete management of a center of excellence within HR Operations. This may include any of the following: Employee Relations, Employee Engagement Programs, Safety & WC, Mobility, Administration & Onboarding, Employment Regulatory Compliance.


Occasional travel within the United States, as well as abroad may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Administrative supervision of Local HR Support and Location Safety Coordinators when applicable

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Technical Skills - Strong generalist background with broad knowledge of recruiting, organizational management, employee relations, training and development, and safety. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management. Ability to stay current with federal and states laws and regulations. Strong computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint; as well as experience with HRIS.

Interpersonal Skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain a mutual comfort level while relating to a diverse workforce. Ability to be a mentor and resource for direct reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executive management, peers, staff, outside agencies and auditors.

Teamwork - Team player with a positive attitude. Ability to facilitate teamwork among staff, as well as with other groups throughout the organization. Ability to build trust with all functional areas within the organization.

Judgment - Exhibit sound and accurate judgment. Accountable for decisions made within the scope of responsibility, with the focus on meeting established short term and long term goals and objectives.
