Docketing Assistant

We have a few clients in Downtown Chicago who are looking for docketing assistants to join their team. Both positions are with law firms and are direct hire. Salary will be based on experience and will be in the range of $50,000-$75,000. Work hours are generally Monday-Friday 8am-5pm but may also require additional hours.

Job duties may include but will not limited to:
-Enter data into firm's docketing and calendar system
-Calculate rule-based litigation deadlines
-Generate docket reports and queries as requested
-Monitor cases with the use of various online resources
-Handle all inquiries from attorneys, paralegals, and secretaries
-Assist with service and filing of all court documents
-Travel to local courts and agencies using public transportation
-Perform e-filings for federal, state, and appellate courts
-Monitor/update information on all IP domestic and international cases in the IP Docket Database
-Review outgoing USPTO mail/filings for accuracy and completeness
-Assist accounting department with the reconciliation of firm's deposit accounts

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

-3-5+ years of docketing experience for all positions
-1+ years of IP experience for one position
-Knowledge of IP Docketing Systems highly preferred (ex. PATTSY) for one position
-Proficient in Microsoft Office (may be tested on this) for all positions
-Knowledge of court websites, docket searching databases, and document retrieval databases for both positions
-Knowledge of federal and state e-filing procedures for one position

-Bachelor's degree in business or in related field highly preferred for all positions
-Comfortable with and available to work overtime
