About the Job:
The successful candidate will perform a 10 week internship at MilliporeSigma's Milwaukee facility involving market analysis, technology roadmapping, and the development of new products and marketing tools related to 3D bioprinting, tissue engineering and/or drug delivery. The intern will engage with key opinion leaders, study the biomedical literature, interface with internal and external experts and stakeholders and survey the competitive landscape in order to determine the ideal specifications for new products with applications specific to materials used in biomedical research.
-Conduct a deep-dive analysis on emerging scientific trends in tissue engineering and 3D bioprinting for both academic and clinical research
-Evaluate tissue engineering and 3D bioprinting competitive landscape and identify areas of opportunity
-Collaborate with a cross functional team of internal experts to identify new product and application areas in tissue engineering and/or 3D printing
-Collaborate with Product Management and engage with external customers to explore product and application needs in tissue engineering and 3D printing
-Design a product research and development project and identify stages and hypotheses to validate
As an ideal candidate you will have...
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluency in English is essential; other languages are a distinct advantage.
-Ability to communicate with internal stakeholders and present technical proposals.
-Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SciFinder.
For consideration you must have...
-Completed or in the process of completing a Ph.D. or post doctoral fellowship in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering. Candidates near completion of their program are preferred.
-Experience with applications such as 3D bioprinting, tissue engineering, and/or drug delivery research are required.
-Experience in academic biomedical materials research using polymers and other materials.
