Contract Administrator Government Agency

A government entity in Phoenix is currently seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to join their team. This position is a long term temporary opportunity with a great foot in the door to this government agency
! This position will be paying $27.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:
This position will serve as a Consultant Contract Specialist within the Engineering Consultants Section (ECS). This position will be responsible for the management and administration of up to 40 various professional services contracts. This position will be tasked with the following roles:

Contract Procurement:

Management and Administration of Professional Services Contracts will include the following duties and responsibilities:
Receive, review and process requests for payments on active contracts based on each contract??s compensation clause. Proactively work with the Finance Department to ensure proper project numbers are utilized and funding is available.
Receive, review and process Contract Modifications on active contracts, ensuring compliance with the contract modification process and original contract terms and conditions. This will require detailed reviews to ensure correct rates are used, math calculations are correct, etc.
Prepare a variety of written administrative and management reports as required to document status, funding, schedules, progress, etc. of various contracts.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Skills & Knowledge Desired:

Knowledge of Federal and State Laws and Statutes to ensure compliance of all contract requirements, terms and conditions throughout the life of a contract.
Knowledge of and correct understanding and good use of legal contractual language, terminology, etc.
Knowledge of fundamentals of budget development and expenditure control to determine type and appropriateness of contract compensation.
Knowledge and experience with on-line contract management software, etc. to create and process payment reports, schedules and contract documents.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in fast paced, team environment.
Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to process and generate accurate, clear and efficient reports on data and processes.
Familiar with cost accounting, budget and financial systems processes and principals.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, online contract management databases.
Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
Business Degree, Accounting or Public Administration Degree and 2 years of contracting experience.

Qualifications:
Experience in a prior contracts, procurement or legal role
