Supply Chain manager
The general purpose of this role is to develop, direct, implement, optimize, measure, and control all Purchasing activities. The primary focus of this position is executing strategic plans to achieve materials cost management, procurement excellence, inventory management, and on time delivery targets. This is a "hands on" position capable of executing the details in a timely manner.
??? Manage Purchasing Team
??? Hands-on sourcing, negotiation, contracting and executing agreements to fulfill day-to-day business needs for goods, services and manufacturing components
??? Develop and maintain supplier network that provides required components at a competitive price, high quality, and on-time delivery
??? Strategic sourcing for new products that may involve market research, procurement due diligence, requirements and scope development, and planning and sourcing strategy.
??? Communicate risks and mitigation plans in a timely manner as well as track and expedite critical orders as needed
??? Interview, hire, train, mentor and oversee purchasing staff
??? Manage the bidding process and negotiation to deliver on cost savings targets
??? Oversee departmental conformance to ISO9001, AS9100 and ISO14001 requirements
??? Continually monitor supply chain capacity utilization and allocate/rationalize where required
??? Establish credit terms with new vendors
??? Execute the purchasing process for capital equipment, construction projects, major facilities upgrades, and material handling equipment
??? Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
??? Monitor forecasts and orders to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
??? Identify new opportunities for cost savings, such as new suppliers, standardized specifications, innovations, improvement of existing supply contracts.
??? Work closely with suppliers and Quality Assurance to ensure material received meets acceptable quality standards and requirements
??? Contract negotiation
??? Manage the bidding process and negotiation to deliver on cost savings targets.
??? Responsible for RFP/RFQ development, bidding events, supplier selection, negotiation
??? Lead supplier evaluations and contract negotiations
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
--Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record in negotiation, resolving issues and achieving targets. Knowledge of supply chain management and processes required.
--A strong verbal and written communication skill, along with collaborative management skills is a must.
--Knowledge of accounting practices as applied to procurement procedures preferred.
--Certified Purchasing Professional or Manager and Lean or Six Sigma Certification preferred;
--Supply chain (CPIM - APICS) certification desired.
--Working knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma, Total Quality, ISO 9000, SAP ERP system.
--Strong interpersonal skills and organization aptitude;
--Excellent written and oral communication skills;
--Must possess strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
--Excellent negotiation skills.
B.S. degree in Supply Chain or Materials Management, Engineering, or Business,
??? Minimum 8-10 years in the area of direct material purchasing and supply chain management. Experience in manufacturing required, preferably cross-trained in operations in a short lead time environment.
