Financial Business Analyst

This role will work to supplement and augment capacity on the Rideshare Tech team to consolidate, analyze, manage budgets and interface directly with FP&A. They will be a partner to the Tech team in surfacing and building new processes, tools, and reporting for to better operationalize the team.

Responsibilities:
-Own the Finance and Accounting relationship for Tech
-Own Tech org budgets and associated tasks
-Consume and analyze financial data from FP&A (budgets, income statement forecasts, budget templates, monthly/quarter close, etc.)
-Build/understand all Tech org budgets (6 budgets)
-Work with leaders across the orgs to rebuild their budgets
-Own administrative tasks such as tracking and reconciling budgets, updating budgets, following up on items within the budgets, understanding the re-forecasted budgets from FP&A
-Expected to dig into details to answer questions about vendors, where budget is coming from, which teams contribute to vendor usage
-Highlight major anomalies, trends in budgets and actuals where the business can proactively readjust
-Understand what a minimum viable process and set of reports would be between FP&A and Tech
-Assemble and summarize data into structured ???source of truth??? reports that will be shared back to FP&A; transform them into managerial reports (easy to read by the business)
-Build initial set of Tech specific reports
-Managerial reporting format for yearly budget
-Monthly reporting scheme - forecasts, budgets, actuals, burndown
-Breakdown budgets by Cost Center, Focus Area, Director, and Team
-Controllable vs non-controllable items review

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
MVP Includes:
-Opex expenses: T&E/offsites, General Corp Expenses, Professional Training & L&D, Professional Services (contractors/consultants)
-Intern/Recruiting/Candidate budget with Recruiting team
-L&D budgets with People team

MVP does not include:
-T&E approval process
-Coupa/procurement process (already in progress)
-Reconciling and fixing incorrect data within actuals
-Meet monthly with FP&A (potentially also Accounting and Procurement) to review numbers for each org
-Designate a portion of time to understand current gaps in processes and reporting
-Propose improved process flow, feedback loop, and adjustment cadence

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
Experienced

Qualifications:
-Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information
-Previous hands-on experience and working knowledge of budgeting, financial planning, reporting
-Proficient in spreadsheets, Google Suite of products
-Strong analytical skills, reporting and communication skills
-Willingness to dig into the details, understand business needs, and facilitate decisions based on changing priorities
-Ability to interface seamlessly with several cross functional organizations
-Organized and naturally detail oriented
-High tolerance for ambiguity and complexity
-Onsite, 40 hour/week required (no remote work)
