We are currently seeking Editors to support one of our clients located in the Washington DC/Metro area.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities will be to review, edit, and quality control written evaluations of grant proposals submitted to the United States Department of Education Institution of Education Sciences.

Working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Successful candidates will be familiar with one or more of the MAJOR STYLE GUIDE and have at least 2 years of prior editing experience. Editors will review and edit existing summary statements written by peer reviewers and ensure that the summary statements follow American Medical Association (AMA) style guidelines and other editorial guidelines established. Editors will also review their peers edited statements to quality control the documents

Qualifications:
?? MUST have reliable high-speed internet access and a computer
?? MUST be available during normal business hours to respond to e-mails, attend status meetings, and communicate with management
?? Must be available for 10 hours of paid training the week of 1/21/19
o 2-hr webinar
o 8-hr of in-office training
?? Must be available for full time work 2/8/19 ?? 3/8/19
?? Must be able to reliably meet consecutive deadlines in fast-paced team environment
?? Must be organized, good communicator, detail oriented, and exhibit the highest levels of professionalism
?? Experience editing for peer reviewed journals a major plus
?? Demonstrated experience editing using one of the major writing style guides
?? Preference will be given to candidates with experience editing using the American Medical Association style guidelines, which is the style guide we adhere to
?? Experience with education, evaluation, and other scientific topics and audiences a major plus
