Assistant Production Manager - Food Production

A growing Food Production facility is looking for a dedicated manager with food production experience to join their team. You can go to work in a nice, clean and temperature controlled facility. This team works hard but in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Safety is always a priority so your first day on the job will include a thorough safety orientation.

Work Environment
This job operates in a food production environment where raw materials are put through a process to produce a finished good that is suitable for consumption. This role is routinely surrounded by machinery, high/low lighting, temperature fluctuation, continuous noise and smells.

Expected Working Hours
This is a 2nd shift position.
This is a full time position. Normal work days are Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends. 2nd shift starts at 2 pm. End time varies from 1 am to 2 am.

Responsibilities:
-Manage and supervise production staff. Hire, train, develop, motivate and mentor employees. Evaluate, analyze, review and monitor work activities for quality and quantity. Recommend solutions to reduce non-productive efforts to increase productivity. Conduct meetings to discuss company objectives and goals. Analyze, report and resolve problems/issues. Recommend solutions to prevent future similar problems/issues. Schedule employees and minimize overtime. Promote teamwork environment.
-Oversee and manage production operation for 2nd shift. Manage the day-to-day activities in production to include weighing ingredients, processing, filling, labeling, capping, packaging and all other production operations. Review all Production operations to ensure procedures meet company and customer standards. Work together with Maintenance and Quality Control to achieve production goals.
-Report any setup and/or mechanical problems to Maintenance to ensure quality and production efficiency.
-Report any issues to the Scheduling and Material Control Departments as needed.
-Coordinate with R&D and QA on all regular, new, special test and/or product enhancement production
-Create and maintain SOP??s for all production activities including safety and GMP's with Manager

Working hours: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Experience:
Experienced

Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Minimum 1-2 years of experience in food manufacturing industry or equivalent
-Must have previous supervisory/managerial experience with a staff of at least 5 or equivalent
-Knowledge: basic mathematics-addition, subtraction, multiplication
-Knowledge: computer skills including Word and Excel
-English Language (Speaking/Listening/Writing); Spanish a plus
