Individuals in positions allocated to this class supervise a major division of Finance and Administrative Services. Primary responsibilities include the development, implementation and evaluation of financial and tax reporting, treasury services, Capital Credits administration, funds management, audits, budget preparation, work planning and compliance with government and regulatory agencies.
Work is performed independently under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Advise and Assist the Chief Financial Officer.
Provide assistance and guidance.
Other Essential Duties.
Perform other such duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or the Chief Financial Officer.
Assist and support other Accounting staff in the performance of their assigned duties.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Minimum Training and Experience:
This position requires a four (4) year college degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and five (5) years of recent experience in electric industry accounting or finance, plus additional certification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent).
Additional education may be substituted for the experience requirements on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This position requires knowledge of human resource management principles and motivational techniques as well as knowledge of accounting and finance administration, treasury management and budget analysis.
This position requires the ability to speak effectively and communicate with others both orally and in writing.
This position requires the ability to deal with confidential information.
Individuals in this position must have experience with, and knowledge of, accounting information systems and proper internal controls. Also, individuals in this position must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Individuals in this position must be able to use business equipment, calculator, personal computer, etc.
Need to be a CPA with utility experience... must have knowledge of NISC software or SCDC software.
