Materials Coordinator

*temporarily remote due to COVID
The Material Coordinator supports major transmission capital project work by tracking and expediting project materials purchased. Requires ongoing cross-functional collaboration with many different internal organizations including Project Management, Engineering, Planning & Scheduling, Strategic Sourcing, Material Planning and Inventory Management, as well as daily outreach and communication with external vendors.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
-Attends project team meetings as necessary and effectively communicates project material status updates
-Tracks lead times for major material with various vendors and in-house engineering, and provides input into the project schedule
-Works with Transmission Engineering and Procurement to ensure that all required materials are ordered
-Coordinates and expedites materials for transmission construction in support of project management, planning and scheduling
-Communicates regularly with vendors and creates/maintains material status reports to provide updates and feedback to the project team
-Utilizes ERP system to coordinate receipt, storage, release, and replacement of transmission system spare parts and construction materials
-Functions as the primary point of contact with the project team and the field construction representatives
-Participates in disposition of excess materials upon project completion
-Request materials, track material needs, coordinate material pickup/delivery, and coordinate remote delivery locations. It is critical that this position can ensure material deliveries are on time to support planned outages that have been requested and synchronized with the ISO-New England system
-Working with contractors to ensure materials are ready in the stockroom

Working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Tracking/logistics for material line projects
Perform material request entries from Engineering work lists
Track material requests and Purchase Orders for material
Work with Procurement to determine NH priorities for common materials between the Eversource operating companies
Assist with coordinating material storage, logistics, and shipments to remote material storage locations
Act as main contact for Engineering, Field resources, Procurement, and the Stockroom for material issues
Review and recommend changes to min/max's for maintenance stock items

Education:
No Degree Required

Experience:
Entry Level

Qualifications:
Required: 3-5 years of experience in materials. Degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Materials Management or Project Management preferred. Utilities industry knowledge preferred.
-Familiarity with transmission assets and equipment preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Familiarity with Maximo (preferred)
