Medical Billing Specialist

One of the largest trauma hospitals in the southeast is immediately seeking a Provider Enrollment Specialist to help support the open enrollment volume. This position is a temporary, full-time opportunity located in downtown Atlanta, Ga and operates Mon-Fri during traditional business hours. This is not a work-from-home opportunity.

The Provider Enrollment Specialist is responsible for enrollment duties including processing and entering collected data with precision and accuracy. Ideal candidates should be independently managed with prior experience in a similar capacity with ability to complete assigned requests efficiently.

Qualified candidates should have prior experience working in healthcare, preferably a hospital environment. While a bachelor's degree is preferred, a high school diploma or GED is required. This position begins as early as Oct 19, 2020.

Responsibilities:

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
o Minimum 2 years previous experience in provider enrollment in a healthcare and/or payer plan setting
o Must have experience enrolling providers in payer plans
o Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
o Experience with CACTUS or other database program
o Experience compiling Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) profiles
o Experience communicating effectively with physicians and other professional personnel
o Experience with data processing/data entry

Education:
High School

Experience:
Entry Level

Qualifications:
o Bachelors or Associates degree in the business or healthcare field, preferred but not required
o High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required and must be validated through background search
o Ability to type at least 40 WPM
o Knowledge and ability to adhere to HIPAA requirements
o Detailed-oriented with have excellent organizational skills
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Ability to follow directions and work independently or with a team
o Familiarity with medical terminology
o Prior experience working with hospital medical staff and credentialing
o Provides excellent customer service skills
o Ability to prioritize work and multitask
o Ability to assist with various managed care projects as needed
