GMP Facilities Engineer II

In this position, the ideal candidate will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Campus and Infrastructure Utility systems across the Billerica campus. This role will be responsible for managing the complete asset lifecycle of campus infrastructure including: reliability, availability, and operational safety through the application of world class engineering and reliability strategy, predictive maintenance techniques, and good engineering practices. Additionally this role will provide project management capabilities for continuous improvement projects and will execute the site reliability and asset management strategies.

Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter maintenance expertise to the campus for utility systems, environmental monitoring (Lab Watch) systems and other mechanical-HVAC systems.
Create, review, and approve project design and specification documents, sequence of operations for equipment, commissioning and validation execution protocols, business process documents, and maintenance work instructions.
System ownership including maintenance of systems, GMP change control, development of maintenance plans and oversight of system performance. Create and manage master data for equipment.
Develop a harmonized set of Facility system design standards used to specify requirements for future upgrades
Work to improve reliability, efficiency, safety and quality compliance of building systems and process equipment through root cause analysis, corrective and preventative maintenance. Execute small projects related to maintenance. Track maintenance and reliability metrics and key performance indicators. Benchmark performance indicators against industry data. Look for continuous improvements opportunities.
Support startup and qualification for new systems/equipment
Build strong relationships with site Maintenance, Project Engineering, Process Support, Manufacturing, and Quality functions
Ensure the integration of environment, health, safety, and security into the business processes, systems, and programs. Interface with safety, production, and quality groups to ensure facility operations and systems comply with required standards.

Working hours: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:

Bachelors

Experience:
Experienced

Qualifications:
BS degree in engineering is required.
4 year Facilities management experience is preferred.
Minimum 7 years?? experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferred, specific experience in utilities, engineering, MEP required.
This individual should be a self-starter with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational and technical skills, with the capability to work both independently and in a team environment. Strong analytical and communications skills are critical.
Demonstrated ability to apply experience and hands-on mechanical skills to investigate system deficiencies.
Affiliations with relevant industry associations, such as ISPE, PDA, etc.
Knowledge of and experience with lean concepts and tools.
Project management experience
Proficiency with the use of building management systems
