Associate Contract Administrator

Job Title: Associate Contract Administrator
Work Location: remote temporarily due to COVID then onsite at Hartford, CT
Job type: 1-year contract- W2 with Randstad
Experience level: 1 to 2 years of administrative experience required.

About the client
Our client is a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 energy company based in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire and operates a large energy delivery system.

Essential Functions:
-Working with Project Managers and Procurement, administers contract requirements relative to specific contracts, reviews capital contractor performance expectations in conjunction with Project Management and Project Engineering, interacts with vendors and monitors contract compliance.
-Provides administration of contracts including review of rates, schedule of values etc. Working with Project Managers on contract strategy for managing risks and claims.
-Participates on negotiating committees to establish contract structure, price, terms and conditions and other pertinent contract conditions.
-Communicates and coordinates (is the primary interface) with project managers, project engineers, and other project team members, on contract, RFP, RFQ related matters.
-Builds and maintains vendor relationships.
-Establishes and executes a strong scope control process to contain out-of-scope charges.
-Tracks errors, problems, reworks and aggressively pursues back charges and warranty claims.
-Carefully monitors the contractor??s subcontracting process to reduce the chances for irregularities.
-Monitors vendor payments, reducing the occurrence of duplicate charges, charges not billable under contract, overpayment errors. Periodically audits contractor invoices.
-Assures good documentation of contract decisions and closeout and all documents are filed

Working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Technical Knowledge/Skill:
-Basic knowledge of contract administration principles
-Ability to represent the Business and Eversource with appropriate behavior.
-Ability to work with a team of individuals having diverse disciplines and levels of experience relative to contract issues.
-Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn computer technology including Maximo, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint or similar applications
-Good written and oral communication skills including formal presentations
-Good interpersonal and analytical skills
-Well organized and ability to work independently


Entry Level

Education: Associate's degree in Business, Finance or related discipline preferred

Experience:1 to 2 years of contract administration experience required (either experience working with vendors or processing invoices)

Ability to work remotely temporarily during COVID

Training and Schedule
Training directly with the procurement project controls team on systems and processes. The schedule is typically flexible, but usually, 8-4:30 is common.
