Payroll Specialist

Do you have a keen eye for detail, along with payroll technical know-how? If so, this new opportunity might be perfect for you. We're looking for someone who will manage employee compensation for a large manufacturing facility on a weekly payroll cycle. Located in a suburb 15 minutes north of downtown, you will work in a busy facility with over 400 employees. We are looking for someone with solid technical skills as well as a variety of soft skills including critical thinking, communication and a willingness to accept new procedures while maintaining speed and accuracy. As a Payroll Specialist you will enter payroll information, calculate wages and make payments. You will understand confidentiality and be experienced entering data with attention to detail. Your excellent math skills will benefit your daily calculations.

Responsibilities:
-Gather, receive, and process data entry of payroll hours for approximately 90 employees, in a multi state organization.
- complete data entry to update to update employees information regarding payroll; benefit changes, garnishment withholding and/or special pay.
-Reconcile hours for temporary employees and report to various temp agencies.
- address employee payroll questions and complaints
-maintain employee records, including new hire entry for payroll and benefit packages, answering new hire questions, answering new hire questions, and ensuring enrollment in requested benefits.
-Ensure benefit and other payroll deductions are entered, reconciled with paperwork, and reported to corporate.
-Reconcile and code invoices for vendors.
-Handle terminated employees reporting
-Research state filing requirements
-Year - End Reporting, including W2's, 941, 940,1095, etc
-report and pay all payroll taxes, reconciling with compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local Laws and regulations regarding payroll.
-Perform other duties and request as assignment or needed by management.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
- A certified payroll professional (CPP) designation is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, enterprise resource planning (ERP)
systems and payroll processing services
- Strong communication, social and organizational skills required

Qualifications:
-HS Diploma/ GED
-Previous payroll/clerical experience preferred
-Proficient personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office
-Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
-Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
-Ability to work in a team fostered environment
-Ability to work in a multi tasked environment
-Ability to prioritize and organize work
-Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule, open to overtime during busy periods/
