CNC Programmer Mill/Lathe
Immediate opportunity for a CNC Programmer in the Newington area. Direct position for an aerospace company is seeking a highly motivated individual who can support a CNC machine shop team for new product and repeat production product; focusing on reducing cost, improving quality and increasing throughput. This candidate must have experience with both horizontal and vertical machining centers. This is a great opportunity to get on board with an established organization
Responsibilities for the CNC Programmer
-Experience with NC/NX programming
-Participate on design teams of new product to design for manufacturability (DFM)
-Write CNC programs and detail setup sheet documentation
-Provide tooling and fixture designs to support the necessary setups as well as participating in program prove for error checking and run time reduction.
-Conducting post program prove out audits to capture actual set up and machine run times for entry into MRP system
-Prepare computer programs to control CNC machine operations using CAD/CAM terminal.
-Prepare flow charts, documents and sequence logic and write complete sequence of machine operations necessary to complete cycle.
-Analyze engineering drawings for materials, process fabrication and design elements.
-Specify patterns on programming sheet for way part is to be machined.
-Assure program meets target cycle time and program generates geometry to customer requirements.
-Assist in the concept design of required tools and gages, support changes to existing tools and fixture as improvements are identified.
-Support lean activities both within the Engineering group and across the organization.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
-Experience in MRP II, ISO 9001 & AS 9100
-Experience with Solidworks design software is required
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Experience with Vericut is a plus
This is a first shift position, starting pay if from $28-$36/hr based on experience. Benefits and PTO are included with employment. Must be willing to submit to a background and drug test.
