Quality Control Engineer

The Employee will hold the title of Quality Engineer. The Employee will implement a comprehensive quality program based upon customer requirements and internally identified risks. This will include the creation of documents, standards and processes. The Quality Engineer will assist in the setup of a quality lab and the acquisition of necessary equipment. The employee will work closely with engineering, production and customer representatives to solve problems and develop standards.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk or stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Act as customer quality liaison.
Implement quality control procedures based upon customer requests and internally identified needs.
Perform risk analysis based on production capabilities and customer requirements.
Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
Develop new approaches to solve problems identified.
Maintain and update the approved supplier list as needed.
Prepare reports to communicate status and results of quality activities.
Learn and maintain working knowledge of industry standards.
Collaboration with engineering and the customer to refine standards.
Develop, execute, and analyze quality-reporting measures.
Audit suppliers and establish supplier quality requirements.
Participate in internal and external quality audits.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Competencies:
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, read procedures and process guidelines, record and interpret data.
Must have the confidence and assertiveness to act when standards are not met in spite of production pressures or conflicts.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be detail oriented.
Demonstrate technical aptitude (ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information).
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor???s Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience in a similar Quality Engineer role
Knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control.
Previous experience implementing ISO Standards.
Working knowledge of Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) and other failure analysis quality tools.
Advanced Microsoft Office computer skills to compute and compile necessary data and to present data in various forms for recording, reporting and presentations.
