Heavy and frequent machine set ups, some programming, and operation of various CNC and manual mills and lathes. Previous experience with Fanuc controls a plus. Current CNC machines in shop include Dainichi, Kuraki, Hurco, Okuma-Howa, Yama-Seiki and Toyoda. Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts. Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations. Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machine parts to specifications. Lifts machine parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable. Smooth flat and contoured surfaces and power grinders and fits and assembles parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms. Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances. Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part. Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product. Perform special project needs. Must keep current with tooling technology while meeting project deadlines. Other duties may be assigned.
Ability to make frequent machine set-ups.
5+ years of general machining.
Mix of manual and CNC machining preferred.
Read & follow blueprints, drawings and specifications.
Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics including trigonometry.
Possess required tools.
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with others and be participative team player.
Pay Range : Depends on experience
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
The ideal candidate needs to have the skills necessary to perform the following tasks:
To read and understand blue prints.
To troubleshoot dies, both at the press and on the bench.
Need to work independently when required but also be able to work as part of a team.
Set up and operate tool room equipment such as lathe, milling machine, radial drill press and grinders to machine parts to specifications
Ability to use precision measuring equipment, including but not limited to micrometers, dial calipers and comparators.
Must possess the ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, able to work independently and be willing to take initiative. Candidate must have good attention to detail and be well-organized. The ability to operate with minimum supervision is also critical to this role. The right candidate will be able to effectively trouble shoot and problem-solve multiple types of progressive dies.
