Inventory Control Specialist
The inventory control specialist is responsible for all aspects of inventory integrity and will be a key component of ensuring accuracy, efficiency and productivity of the area. This position will work closely with the shipping/receiving supervisor and team. Reports to supervisor/management. Performs routine but varied clerical duties on the manufacturing floor in accordance with standard procedures.
-Assures 100% accuracy of inventory.
-Record all inventory changes and input inventory into system.
-Plays a significant role in error detection and process improvement.
-Maintains stored items in an orderly manner to permit prompt issuance including marking and labeling shelves, banner sheets, boxes, cartons and pallets to facilitate storage.
-Communicates issues or shortages with immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
-Examine items visually for defects or wear
-Run on going routine daily, weekly monthly and cycle counts.
-Manage the cycle counting process as well as approving and balancing counts.
-Investigate inventory problems as needed.
-Demonstrate time management and organizational skills to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
-Research and reconcile inventory discrepancies, determine the cause, recommend and make necessary adjustments.
Working hours: 1st shift
-Job requires ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
-Frequent bending, lifting, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling of boxes as well as walking through the warehouse.
-Standing constantly (over 2/3 of time), walking frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time)
-Previous inventory control experience is required
-Lead/supervisory experience preferred
-Previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred
-Must be able to work assigned shift
-Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary to meet product demand
