The hand packer is a full-time seasonal job that will be responsible for hand packing, grading,
repacking, or reconditioning fruit based on rotation during the fruit packing season, which is usually from
October to June. Seasonal periods may vary in duration from season to season.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Forming cardboard cartons, pattern packing fruit by size and variety, bagging fruit by weight; Maintaining clean work area; Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to complete last-minute orders and necessary tasks;
and, All other tasks and projects assigned by management.
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Ability to follow instructions and be able to adapt to changing standards on a routine basis;
Ability to reach and pull carton from overhead storage;
Ability to work accurately under artificial light, routine arm motion and grasping with hands, continuous
Ability to have attention to detail;
Ability to abide by Company employment, safety, and food safety policies;
Ability to work and communicate effectively with supervisor and other employees;
Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment near moving machinery, equipment, forklifts and
vehicles in the receiving area;
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, bend, climb stairs, and maintain a safe and clean work area for long
periods at a time; and,
Ability to report to work early in the morning, work extensive hours and weekends, and be very flexible
as needed by varying seasonal production schedules.
No Degree Required
At least six (6) months experience in packing fresh fruit;
Must have ability to maintain quality standards on pack line; and,
Have dependable transportation to report to work on a punctual and dependable basis, and ability to
work late when needed to complete pack schedule and last minute pack orders for the day.
